Description: Learn to create collaborative multimedia maps. Be inspired by student created maps that demonstrate learning in Math, Science, Social Studies, English and Art. Try it yourself and discover how easy it is to make beautiful and informative maps by using place marks, paths and areas with embedded data including text, images and YouTube video. You’ll leave this session having mapped out a way to integrate Google Maps into your own learning focused classroom.

Description: This fast paced session will open your eyes to the possibilities within YouTube for both curating and creating video. Learn to aggregate content to your home page and curate and share your own collections of playlists. Be inspired by how educators like you are incorporating video into their lessons and “flipping” the classroom. Investigate using the YouTube video editing tools and annotation tools to create interactive video quizzes and “choose your own adventure” videos.
Bio: Patrick Green is currently the Middle School Education Technology Coordinator at Singapore American School, where he assists teachers in integrating technology into the curriculum in meaningful ways so that students use current tools to create, collaborate, think critically, conduct research, and solve problems.
Patrick Green is an Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Certified Teacher, and Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer. He has been recognized as a YouTube Star Teacher and has extensive experience supporting teachers in “Flipping” the classroom.
Formerly, as the Upper School Integration Specialist at the International School of Prague, Patrick managed an Apple Macbook 1-1 laptop program; early in his teaching career as a Middle School US History, Reading and Language Arts teacher, Patrick was selected to participate in the Teacher Leadership Project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He taught in a 2 to 1 laptop environment and connected with likeminded educators working towards making education more relevant to students.
Outside of the regular work day, Patrick often finds himself in Cambodia where he assists in student and parent house-building service, local teacher training programs, and local school computer lab development. As with most of his experiences in education, he is learning much more than his students.

Description: The development of a Seoul Foreign High School student tech support and innovation team was proposed by Brian Hamm after consulting with developers of student tech support programs in Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, and with the help of Jeff Utech, creator of the Google Ninja program. In the fall of 2012, Brian and the Tech Crewsaders kicked off their first semester of what was to be an amazing, transformational experience for the student group. More than doubling in size by the second semester, the dedicated team has also filtered into the other divisions at Seoul Foreign School, and is now pushing their own publication, the Tech Crewsaders Magazine, to thousands of viewers around the world. This student led and driven group has drastically impacted the SFS community through their various innovations and has prepared a template and package for you to get your own “Tech Crewsaders” student tech support and innovation up and running in your schools.

Clara Ngo is currently teaching secondary Mathematics at the International School of Ho Chi Minh City. She often finds herself occupied trying to figure out new technologies for her classes to be interested in, but more because she has fun with them herself. Her most current technological interests are 3D printers and LEGO Mindstorms. Outside of doing geeky things, you can also find her on the basketball court. |

Frank Hua is currently a MYP Design Technology teacher and PYP IT integration coordinator at International School Ho Chi Minh City. He has been involved with initiating iPad programs, integrating interactive whiteboards into the classroom, designing a new video studio, implementing 3D design and printing and integrating Lego Mindstorm into the MYP curriculum. He is frequently looking for new ways to incorporate technology into the classroom. He is constantly trying to stay relevant to what is current and popular in today’s industry. |

He taught all the Computer Science courses at the High School level through AP Computer Science AB. During that time, he worked with student “sysops” to create many school technology programs including one of the first school websites, the “DragonNet”, in 1996, Parent Conference Signup systems, video broadcasting systems, and many more. Description: With the increasing availability of cloud-based technology and 1:1 digital learning devices for all students and teachers, structuring a comprehensive hybrid/blended learning environment in schools is the next step forward. Digital resources have reached the tipping point. Enough are available to teach complete courses, many for free. PK-12 schools have the advantage of using these digital resources in a face-to-face environment which is different from pure online education. Inspired by the TPACK model from Michigan State University, this presentation and discussion describes practical examples of content, pedagogical, and documentation technologies and how they can be structured in the classroom curriculum design.

Hamish is currently the Education Technology Coach (Primary) at Chatsworth International School in Singapore, where he helps teachers to integrate technology in a creative and meaningful way to help students reach their intellectual, creative and emotional potential. His experience as a professional electronic musician and performer strongly influences the way he does this, particularly when helping colleagues plan multi-disciplinary Units of Inquiry that incorporate mixed media. Description: In order for student’s creative output to have meaning, it must have an audience. ePortfolios provide students with a current and exciting platform from which they can share their work, interact with their learning community and make global connections. Teaching design thinking and visual literacy are vital components of 21st century learning and building and maintaining an ePortfolio allows learners to curate and celebrate their work in a wealth of ways.
This session will focus on a variety of platforms, including Book Creator app and Google Sites. The presenter will be sharing valuable insights into actual ePortfolio deployments at Chatsworth International School in Singapore.
